An easy, cheap way to help Japan's needy
As you know, Powabunga is an online auctioning site, where you pay $1 to buy an auction paddle and enter a virtual auction. The winner is determined by who bids the most carrots, a virtual currency that you collect for free on our site just by clicking a little bunny that hops across your screen. It’s confusing at first, but very, very simple to use once you get the concept. One of the ways we use Powabunga most successfully is to raise charity funds by giving donators a little selfish incentive. Here’s one instance of that. We’re selling 1,100 auction paddles at $1 each to enter this auction. $1.000 dollars of that will go to the Red Cross to help Japan’s tsunami victims, $100 dollars will go to the person who bids the highest amount of carrots. This means that if you spend $1 on an auction paddle, that money will go directly to the Red Cross, and will buy you a chance to win a hundred bones for yourself, if you place the highest carrot bid before the auction closes. AND! If you e-mail Powabunga owner Libby Pratt (libby@powabunga.com) with TSUNAMI in the message line, she’ll send you two free paddles. Meaning? Send a quick e-mail, send two dollars to the Red Cross, increase you chances at scoring a hundred bucks for yourself. Questions? Hit me up here on tumblr.
